English Translation
"The god of eastern seas, its name: Amei. The god of western seas, its name: Shukuryō.
The god of southern seas, its name: Kyojō. The god of northern seas, its name: Gukyō.
The great god of all four seas drives away monsters and sweeps away calamities with its almighty power
Always including the sun sign and horary sign in divination,
I am the one who sees the dualities of the Stems-and-Branches." (1)
O devils of the ferocious cosmos, you shall awaken on the night of Rāhu (2)
Over the upraised balloonflower star (3) opens the gate of light and shade
The Twelve Heavenly Generals (4) radiantly purge the devilishness emerging from the dark
Gather at my feet, and with thy curse fly in order to bring peace to this world
Light rends asunder the dark, wind disperses the clouds
O power of all nature, become the power of my hands
Whirling dark clouds smother the sky, is it the groan of an impending calamity?
The vengeful wraiths wretchedly writhe like worms wriggling in hell
Shooting vermilion charms at the dancing miasma, I sing the song of banishment
Harken shikigami that devour trembling monsters, eat their bones and slurp up their flesh and blood!
Light rends asunder the dark, wind disperses the clouds
O power of all nature, become the power of my hands
Long time ago in the capital, there were people with superhuman powers at their command.
They could freely enter the realm of the dead through an old well; they talked with the dead and played with ghosts.
Employing many shikigami, on nights when the moon was full they rode demons and
Flew in the sky. People called them: onmyōji.
The group of evil spirits patterning the moonless night I shall tear apart into scraps of netherworld seaweed
After the peal of the rolling thunderclap, onward to hell ablaze with roaring flames
Begone hellspawns! So you may never awaken again, I imbue the bound seal with sympathy
Reposeful souls, sleep at the bottom of the underworld, leaving behind your miserable nature
Light rends asunder the dark, wind disperses the clouds
O power of all nature, become the power of my hands
