English Translation
Let us begin the celebration here!
One: Sprinkle some rice straws
Two: To put a grin on your face
Three: Then prepare some sake
Four: For all to be good in the world
Five: Find that it is like that always
Six: Sickness is not welcome here
Seven: Settle all without mishap
Eight: Erect rows of estates
Nine: Line up grand granaries
Ten and then all is finally done
Prosperity!
Joyous, how joyous!
A folding fan is a joyous thing
Dig a pond at the pivot of the fan
Then plant rice seedlings around the pond
When the rice is ripe and it is harvest time
Sickle once and get 2000 koku
Sickle twice and get 4000 koku
Sickle thrice even and the koku are numberless
Brew that rice into sake
Sake as fine as springwater
Those who gulp down lots of that sake
Feel like they'll become millionaires
Prosperity!
This home is a good home
The children here are good children
